Twitter Applications (Part – 17)

More twitter applications. If you have developed any such twitter mash up, feel free to send me an email about it. I will be happy to include in the list. Please first check here whether your application is already included or not.

129. TweetSpeak : Twitter is a popular micro-blogging site that imageeasily  demands too much of your attention for the simple reason that you have to read it. Now you can listen instead. Tweet Speak lets you give your friends the continuous partial attention they deserve without taking your eyes off of the work you should be doing.

130. twi8r : This is basically a language translation application.  It translates from English to text message shorthand (SMS) and vice versa. You can also post the message to your twitter account.

131. Twype : Twype is a small Windows tray program that once every 5 minutes checks your Twitter account and grabs the latest tweet. This gets posted to your Skype Mood. Twype only works from Skype for Windows PCs. The first time you run it, it will popup the dialog so you can put in your Twitter ID. Once that's done it will start in the tray so you can add it to your Start menu and forget about it.

132. tweetgift : tweetgift is a simple way to show a little image appreciation to a friend. all you need is a twitter account. just reply to tweetgift and use our syntax to send gifts to your friends. every gift starts with @tweetgift, then a friend's username, and the gift with an optional message.

example: @tweetgift @blogfisher song for a job well done.

133. TwitterKey : As you might know Twitter accepts more than just basic text. The service is UTF8 compatible which means that instead of tweeting “I love you” you could just as well use “I ♥ you”. But how do you remember all these damn characters?

TwitterKeys is a small tool developed by The Next Web Blog which provides you with a floating window with all these funny symbols you can use in Twitter.

134. TwitterLit : TwitterLit is affiliated with Amazon.com and fun site. It serves up literary teasers twice daily. At 5:00 AM and 5:00PM Eastern Time site posts the first line of a book, without the author's name or book title, but with a link to Amazon so readers can see what book the line is from. The posts are also available for subscription via RSS, Twitter, Identi.ca, and email.

135. twitter moms : twitter moms is a site started as a place to help image moms on twitter find each other. This is an online service that brings mothers who Twitter together. Users can chat about being a mom, as well as their adventures on Twitter.

136. Twitter Digest : Twitter Digest lets you read Twitter updates in image a more manageable fashion. Just pick the usernames you'd like to generate a digest for, and you will see all updates made by them during the past full day (GMT). At midnight, a new set of updates rolls over. The digest is available as both a webpage that you can visit periodically, or as an Atom feed that you subscribe to get updates (grouped as one feed item) in your favorite feed reader.
