Photobucket, the world’s leading standalone photo and video sharing Web site, today announced the addition of new features to make it easier and more fun for users to organize and personalize their photo and video collections. Starting today, Photobucket users can choose from a vast array of pre-made themes or quickly create their own album design theme to personalize any of their Photobucket albums. Users can also take advantage of new tools to more easily organize the media in their albums.
New Album Design Themes
The new Themes feature on Photobucket enables users to go beyond sharing and storing their photos and videos and allows users to completely customize their Photobucket experience. Users can choose from hundreds of pre-made themes in categories such as holidays, entertainment, sports, nature, art, travel and more. In addition, musical artist Tokio Hotel and others will be providing custom themes for their fans.
Lead singer Bill Kaulitz said “The Internet is so important for us as we keep in touch with fans all over the world, so we're excited about our new Photobucket Theme and we hope fans love it."
Alongside pre-made themes, Photobucket users can create a custom theme by:
- Changing the background image by choosing from a variety of pre-made options or by selecting an image already in their Photobucket album
- Selecting border styles for photo and video thumbs
- Choosing the color palette of the theme
- Customizing the share and link options in the album
- Sharing their designs for other Photobucket users to use
Themes can be added to individual albums and to Group Albums and will appear to a visitor when viewing an entire album, an individual photo or video and when photos or albums are shared. Exclusive to Photobucket, Group Albums enable convenient access for multiple people to share and view photos to a single album.
New Photo and Video Organizer
Photobucket is also introducing a new album organizer feature that allows users to easily manage photos and videos by:
- Instantly organizing content with drag and drop features
- Quickly adding titles, descriptions and tags to photos and videos in bulk
- Customizing the sort order of media in albums
- Easily searching through albums based on title, descriptions, or tag contents
“Photos and videos are how we keep and share the most important moments in our lives and our goal with this release was to put even more control and creativity in the hands of users,” said Alex Welch, president of Photobucket. “Photobucket is the first online photo and video site to offer a dynamic assortment of design themes to easily customize albums and we are excited to make the sharing of memories even more personal and entertaining.”
Photobucket offers up to 1GB of space to users with free accounts, enough for thousands of photos and videos up to 5 minutes of length each. Photobucket users can go to http://photobucket.com/albumthemes to start using album Themes, or http://photobucket.com/organize to start organizing.
