Mashable announced about the acquisition of ReadBurner. ReadBurner is developed by alexander marktl which aggregates items that are shared on the Google Reader.
Explaining the reason behind this acquisition "The idea of ReadBurner, when I first found out about it (via Mark’s coverage here on Mashable) simply made sense as an extremely efficient and 100% transparent way to determine which stories are most popular/important. After reading all of the great coverage about the product and talking to Alex about what we can do to improve it going forward, it was too exciting to pass up." said Adam Ostrow.
