Convert Your Documents To Speech Using ReadTheWords.com

image ReadTheWords.com is a free, web based service that assists people with written material. This site basically converts any of your input text in to speech (audio clip) which you can embedded on your website.

You can always write text, or copy text from another file, and paste it into the text box. It also has a file upload section, where you can upload any Microsoft office document, Adobe PDF, txt, and HTML document. You can also tell an address of a website, or RSS feed url, and service will read that as well.

This site uses "Text To Speech (TTS)" Technology to convert text to audio clip. Service will generate a clear sounding audio file from almost any written material.

There are already predefined 15 voices and you can select any reader you would like. There is a dropdown list with samples of each reader’s voice. You can hear a sample before you create your reading.

There is an option to adjust the readers speed before you create a recording. On the input or upload pages, there is a bar that you can adjust in order to speed up or slow down your reader.

It allows maximum 80,000 characters and supports English, Spanish and French. Site is able to generate 1 hours worth of reading in less than 1 minute, however it may take longer than that if more users are active at the same time.

You can find live demo on this site at right most column where it says about SmashingFeeds.com.

There are some precautions which you must have to take care:

1. You cannot distribute your readings.

2. You can download your reading as long as it is for your personal use.

3. You cannot use your readings for any commercial purpose without ReadTheWords.com written permission. You can however, embed the readings into your website or blog, and share them with all your users.
