Today, i added a feature called recent comment display to my blog. It displays latest 5 comments. I was thinking to add it since a long time, but it just went out of my head...
Many bloggers wish to add this feature but don't know how to do that. Wordpress has already this widget, but blogspot doesn't have. So there is a little trick to do this. If you already know then ignore this post, else go ahead. Well, it is very easy to add.
Every blog has a RSS feed for comment which can be found at:
http://name_of_your_blog.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/default/
where name_of_your_blog is the actual name of your blog (e.g. i-stuff is the name of my blog). This URL you have to add to your feed widget. Follow the below simple steps:
1. Go to 'Template' tab
2. Click on 'Add a Page Element'. Element window will pop-up.
3. Find the 'Feed' element and click on 'ADD TO BLOG' button.
4. Add the feed of your comment here. e.g.
http://i-stuff.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/default/
5. Choose the options that you want. Change the title to "Recent Comments" (i-Stuff... Interesting Stuff that Matters in below image)
Thats all, you are done.
