Google introduced 'Google Apps Team Edition'

image Google today announced the Google Apps Team Edition.

You and your co-workers or classmates have a new way to share documents, spreadsheets, presentations and calendar information online. Just sign up with your work or school email address. After confirming that you belong to that organization, it's easy to invite others people from your company or school and start collaborating. There’s no hardware, software or setup involved (and no burden for IT folks). image

Of course, organizations need a level of security and control that individuals  don't have to worry about. Team Edition enables co-workers and classmates to choose to share information just with each other, and not with outsiders, and it lets IT departments actively manage Google Apps, so admins can customize the Google Apps experience for users, including who should have access and which applications are available.

Using Google Apps Team Edition, you can

  • Work on the same document together, instead of sorting out changes in attachments
  • Share documents and calendars securely with your co-workers with a click
  • Access it all from any computer, and even from mobile phones
  • Invite other team members to join and share with you

To start using Team Edition, just verify your work email address to collaborate with co-workers using:

Google Docs – Create and share documents, spreadsheets and presentations.

Google Calendar – Arrange meetings, set schedules, and publish event information.

Google Talk – Instant message with co-workers and make PC-to-PC voice calls for free.

Start Page – Preview your calendar and docs, add gadgets and search the web from one place.
