Google Finance With Real-Time Quotes On NASDAQ Securities

image It's important to have up-to-date market data. It's equally important that that data stay up to date. Google today announced the launch of real-time last sale prices for NASDAQ listed stocks on Google Finance and other Google search properties. Google has partnered with NASDAQ for this pilot program in order to offer users free access to real-time stock quotes. This is an important development for everyone who consumes financial information.

Google also enabled the streaming of quotes across Google Finance. Prices will update automatically, once per second, to reflect current market conditions.

Historically, real-time stock data was not freely and widely accessible. Either buried behind subscription walls or brokerage sites, consumers typically had to live with 15 or 20 minute price delays. In the world of finance, time is indeed money, and it's critical to have timely and accurate data.
